Job description / Role
Job Purpose and Summary
The Implementation Manager will oversee implementation and provide engineering solutions and oversight for various projects of unlimited scope and size. The Implementation Manager will be expected to successfully plan, manage, execute and handover energy efficiency implementation projects while ensuring timely completion within approved budgets without compromising quality and safety.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Plan, direct and coordinate the implementation of energy efficiency upgrades as part of EPC projects to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
• Develop project scopes, objectives and activities from project initiation through project planning, execution, monitoring and control, and project closure involving all relevant stakeholders while ensuring technical feasibility.
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and utilizing various verification techniques to control and monitor projects and manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs and provide cost and time variation updates to upper management.
• Oversee various project partners, consultants, contractors and internal staff during design, specification, procurement, construction management and commissioning phases, and provide communication and project progress updates to clients and to upper management.
• Plan, direct and participate in activities pertaining to concept and detailed design of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) including, but not limited to site surveys, design documentation, specification, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), Sequences of Operation (SOO), and shop drawings.
• Plan, direct and participate in activities relating to procurement, construction management and commissioning including, but not limited to, tendering documentation, shortlisting and award of projects, vendor and contractor site inspections, finance and invoicing, construction oversight, commissioning and functional testing.
• Review and approve technical energy audit reports, engineering and construction budgets, Notices of Implementation (NOI), Design Requirement Documents (DRDs), concept design documentation, detailed design documentation, procurement and tendering documentation, implementation schedules, construction checklists and functional testing documentation relating to commissioning.
• Review, direct and participate in the creation of project plans, Work-Breakdown Structures (WBS), project schedules, project organization charts, project communication plans and project stakeholder documents.
• Conduct and participate in recruitment and performance management activities for department employees including, but not limited to, annual performance reviews, career planning, interviews, on-going feedback, and employee evaluation.
Requirements
Experience, Qualifications and Education Requirements
• 5+ years in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Energy or Environmental Engineering (Energy Engineering preferred).
• Strong knowledge base of energy systems, energy performance contracting and project management.
• Knowledge of MEP design, estimation & procurement, project management, construction management, energy auditing and energy management.
• Knowledge of HVAC, MEP, lighting, electrical systems and the interrelationships between such systems. Preferred Certifications: PMP, CEM, CEA
Preferred Skills
• Adequately skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Project or Primavera, DIALux, Trane Trace and advanced knowledge and usage of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills (listening, speaking, writing), ability to plan and organize daily activities, action-oriented, analyze and resolve problems, ability to perform under pressure and recognize when a sense of urgency is critical, ability to motivate and drive performance within a team, ability to be flexible and adapt to dynamic environments.
