Would you like to be a part of our team? As a result of continuous growth and development, we have a unique opportunity for an Income Audit Officer to join our team of Finance professionals. This position will ensure the completeness and accuracy of income from all sources of the Hotel on a daily basis.
The following duties and responsibilities will also be undertaken in this role;
- Check the completeness of all income from the various systems (such as front office, food & beverage, communications, retail, Marine and Water Park, etc.) into the accounting system and daily report collaborate with key project stakeholders for scheduling and communication.
- Ensure all forms of rebates, allowances, complimentary, adjustments, voids, negatives and the like are test-checked for approval and against approved supporting documentation, highlight unusual or questionable items to the Income Audit Manager and prepare summaries with supporting documentation for approval by senior management and subsequent filing for audit purposes.
- Ensure room rate variance, the complimentary in-house guest reports are test-checked on a regular basis,
- Ensure reports are approved by the rooms division and proper backups are available for upgrades and complimentary rooms.
- Ensure rates for other revenues (food & beverage, retail, communications, Marine and Water Park, etc) are test-checked on a regular basis to supporting documentation.
- Ensure the relevant system reports are being prepared, completed and followed through as applicable, such as night audit, housekeeping discrepancy reports and the like, test-check on a periodic basis and highlight unusual items or incomplete procedures to the Income Audit Manager.
- Ensure regular unannounced visits are made to the front desk, all F&B and Retail outlets, Marine and Water Park and all other revenue areas for physical spot-checks and reviews of the operations, to ensure the required policies and procedures are being followed and highlight discrepancies to the Income Audit Manager.
- Ensure the cashier reports are reconciled daily and any outstanding or unusual transactions are followed through promptly and completely.
- Ensure any required General Ledger postings are prepared on a timely basis.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Master’s degree required within the field of Finance
- 3+ years of experience within a Finance capacity – preferably within the Hotel industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze qualitative data
- Experience with managing multiple assignment effectively
- Must have Night Auditing experience - particularly from a Hotel background
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
