Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (Water) - Abu Dhabi, UAE

CH2M’s Water business is expanding its delivery capabilities in the UAE offices to support the delivery of major water related projects throughout the Middle East region.

Our continued growth and development has led to an increased need for an entry level water engineer to join our Engineering & Design team.

The team deals with a wide range of public, private and industrial water sector clients.
- Design of Instrumentation and Control system for facilities including water, sewerage, drainage, irrigation and fire fighting system
- Preparation of P&IDs, instrument and PLC data sheets, instrument lists, I/O lists, and loop diagrams, typically for wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations
- Site visit for data collection and verification
- Preparing design calculations and drawings
- Preparing technical reports and presentations
- Assisting with the preparation of tender documentation and specification
- Assisting with evaluation of tender documents and material submittals.

Requirements

- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree related to I&C Engineering
- 2 to 5 years of experience in professional I&C engineering, particularly in the water / wastewater industry, for some of the following: design, calculation, reporting, site supervision / inspection; [experience with engineering firms serving as an intern may count toward this]
- Has verifiable record of engineering experience, as well as interpersonal and team cooperation skills
- Should have general knowledge of Instrumentation, PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, Communicaion Networks. This is to include knowledge in deliverables such as P&IDs, Instrument Selection and Application, Control System Configuration and Specifications, and related low voltage communications systems
- Should have very good verbal and written communication skills in English, which are essential for Client, Interdisciplinary and Vendor coordination, and coordination with other work-share offices
- General knowledge, as a minimum, of industry practices and standards which are in use in the Middle East / India regions, as applicable to I&C engineering
- Basic knowledge of some of the following: AutoCAD, Bently Software, Microstation, GIS and/or 3D Modelling Tools
- Hand on experience with industry design software, such as Smartplant INTOOLS, Openplant etc. would be valued
- Develop oneself and enhance the technical expertise of company staff through appropriate training and development
- Periodic travel to offices within MENAI region may be required
