Internal Audit Manager

Job description / Role

To provide a wide range of assurance and advisory assignment to ensure the effectiveness and the efficiency of risk management, internal control and corporate governance processes and management.

- Input into risk assessment of audit universe and identify potential risky audit areas
- Assist and liaise with the AVP on special investigations and management consultancy assignments
- Assist audit manager in implementing and perform audit assessments
- Ensure adequacy and effectiveness of internal control, risk management and governance processes within the bank
- Participate in the review of policies and procedures for improvement
- Work closely with External Auditors and Central Bank Examiners
- Ensure that auditors posses the knowledge, skills and other competencies needed

Requirements

- At least 3-5 years experience in internal/external audit
- MUST be currently in the banking/financial sector
- Has an understanding of accounting and internal auditing principles and methodology
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest international audit standards and methods
- ANALYTICAL THINKING - investigates cause and effect, anticipates potential issues and thinks about practical solutions
- RISK ASSESSMENT/INITIATIVE - anticipates and prepares for a specific opportunity or problem that is not obvious to others
- Ability to communicate with others both verbally and in writing
- Must have management experience of at least 2 years
