Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose: To conduct an internal control checking on operation and transactions according to policies approved by the management to safeguard the company’s interest. To plan, organize and carry out the internal control function.

Responsibilities:
- To plan, organize and carry out the internal controls function including the preparation of an audit manual, plan, scheduling and assigning work and estimating resource needs.
- Monitoring and reconciling the hedging accounts, checking the daily pricing orders and posting the relative journal vouchers to ensure that accounting records is updated on daily basis.
- Participate in the preparation of entity’s expenditures and revenues budget.
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.
- Actively participates in the development of internal control policies ensuring that they are relevant to HSA Commodities SBU operating environment.
- Monitor and provide advice to management to minimize risk resulting from poor internal controls.
- Review and posting journal entries which includes correcting entries, allocating expenditures, and allowance related entries, etc.
- Review commercial invoices, transfers, debit notes and credit notes and follow up the settlement.
- Review daily banking transactions such as LCs, payment authorizations, documentary instructions, transfers, etc.
- Review freight operations, lay time calculations and ensure the recording in accounting system and follow up the settlement.
- Review monthly account re conciliations (Inter-companies & banks) and follow up with accounts and related parties to solve discrepancies.
- Reviewing payments in accordance with company’s procedures.
- Reviewing payroll in accordance with company procedures and government requirements via WPS system.
- Analyze financial records, reports and ensure all adjustments are made as needed.
- Analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances and follow up to settle the outstanding.
- Identify areas of financial and administrative strengths and weaknesses and develop best practices.
- Completes external audit by analyzing accounts and reviewing audit reports.
- Review the responses to internal and external audit management queries to ensure that recommendations are implemented, follow-up on audit action plan to ensure that all action items are resolved before the next annual audit.
- Responsible in reviewing contract registration and management, execution processes and shipping operation, finance and payments.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business management
- FMCG industry experience
- CPA, CMA or equivalent preferred
- 5 years experience in accounting or finance
- Experience in writing internal policies and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls
