Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a member of the Inventory Control Team of AFM PDC-Aftersales Parts, the Inventory Control Assistant is the operational interface with various sources of Parts for AFM. A consistent and system driven approach to maintaining inventory, with an attitude of continuous improvement is vital, to prevent crises in the supply chain, and ensure optimal satisfaction of demand. Building and sharing product and systems knowledge with team members is expected.

You will be responsible for:
- Process regular orders to principal and non-principal vendors, based on system generated demand trends, and inventory classification of individual parts
- Map demand trends of individual customer segments, action specific processes to build parts availability
- Process Special / AIR / VOR customer orders and ensure completion of such orders from principals
- Monitor status of ordered inventory, take action to follow up on delays and uncertainties
- Proactively assist inbound process with all relevant information in specified timelines
- Procure adequate inventory for new models of vehicles, and ensure availability
- Procure and manage inventory of accessories for fitment on new vehicles, as well as for sales in retail outlets
- Process documentation to complete financial requirements of suppliers, logistics providers
- Assist in logistics for outward consignments
- Keep abreast of technical developments in the automotive industry, and improve application knowledge base
- Evaluate portfolio of Dying parts / Dead parts, to prevent waste of working capital
- Support satellite locations in cyclic and annual physical inventory count
- Analyze orders placed by satellite locations to distributor and other source of supply
- Support in analyzing stock position of satellite locations to ensure lean stocking policy is followed at all times

Requirements

You should also be able to communicate effectively in English with strong analytical, communication and inter-personal skills with knowledge in using MS Office; SAP would be an advantage.

Furthermore, to be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following qualification, experience and skills you will be holding an undergraduate degree. Adding to that you are required to have minimum of 4-5 years experience within inventory control and after-sales parts or withing the automotive industry.
