Inventory Controller

Job description / Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen to work for a large manufacturing organization in Dubai
- Monitor and review all financial transactions and controls around the valuation and existence of inventory . This includes control and review of all accounting source documentation in the inventory process, ensuring issued inventory is in line with requested inventory and ensuring delivered inventory is in line with supplier documents. All this to ensure:
- Inventory transactions are valid. This would involve ensuring:
- No sub-ledgers are created or populated with data unless it represents valid, authorized inventory movement
- All inventory adjustments are investigated and appropriately escalated before entry
- All work orders are opened and closed in line with Production Operations. WIP should be as closely monitored as inventory ledgers
- All appropriate inventory transactions have been recorded including write offs/backs, damaged inventory write down, shortages and excesses
- All inventory transactions are appropriately authorized according to the Authority Matrix
- Inventory receipts and shipments are recorded in the correct period at the correct quantities
- Inventory is correctly classified in the correct ledger accounts
- Supervise the Store-Keepers as assigned approximately 10 heads in UAE
- Review reports as submitted by the store-keepers to ensure all inventory is accounted for and correctly valued
- Set up, implement and monitor a system of risk based periodic physical checks of inventory in the entities.
- Confirm that the inventory value being reported in daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports represents a true reflection of what is physically held by the company
- Monitor inventory ageing and highlight potential problems through the appropriate financial models
- Monitor Inventory provisions
- Prepare and present damage reports for authorization according to the Authority Matrix
- Prepare and present shortage reports authorization according to the Authority Matrix
- Liaise with Internal and External Auditors for physical verification exercises
- Advise on inventory reporting. This requires an intimate knowledge of IFRS standards to advise on appropriate

Requirements

- Degree in Accounting/Finance and Chartered Accountant or equivalent or supply chain degree
- Solid understanding of stock inwards, outwards, valuation including raw material, WIP and Finished Goods
- Experience of ERP in a manufacturing environment in the same or related industry
- Good IT skills - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint Advanced)
- Minimum 8 years relevant experience of which at least 3+ years exposures to analyzing companys financial data and inventory in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills - presentation, written reporting, etc.
- Excellent Supervisory Skills
- Experience of analyzing company financial data
