Job description / Role
Our client a leading shared services business is looking for a professional IT category manager to manage their IT procurement spend. During this exciting time for the business they need driven and experienced professionals to join their dynamic and growing team.
Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Managing the It and Technology spend for the business
- Implementing policies, procedures and procurement strategies
- Getting goods and services for the best price and value
- Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process and fast production times
- Working with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively
- Building strong working relationships both internally and with key suppliers
- Contract management and negotiation
- Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in the business
- Dealing with international suppliers
- Understanding technology and managing online systems such as e-auctions and e-tendering
Requirements
The successful candidate should posses the following key skills and qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in a procurement role
- Managed a large IT and technology spend
- Regional experience
- University level degree in Economics, engineering or related subject
