Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT architecture models and their lower level components. Also required to interpret, use and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems. The EA is also responsible for the delivery of strategic technology transformation projects.

- Review, provide input and approve the technical platform architecture/data architecture
- Responsible to define and oversee implementation of production environments to support the product
- Responsible to review and approve/understand key technical processes, standards and software architectures used to develop, implement and support Roosevelt
- Understand and approve the software products and tools for the Program
- Liaise with IT Team and Business Functions to define the platform & technical architecture
- Collaborate with engineering vendor leads to find opportunities to improve speed, reduce technical debt, improve flexibility, etc.
- Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and working with web services/Agile methodology

Requirements

- Working as Principal Architect or Enterprise Architect
- Experience working as solution architect.
- Understands and can explain when transactional semantics will limit scalability in large scale distributed systems.
- J2EE experience, J2EE and related stack including EJB and web servers.
- Knowledge of UML.
- Extensive experience of using queues to decouple complex distributed systems.
- Extensive experience in solving performance problems in complex distributed systems.
- Extensive experience deploying applications in cloud infrastructure and securing web API using Open ID or other SSO technologies.
- Experience of building and deploying software onto AWS or Openstack using Chef, Docker or similar technologies.
