IT Infrastructure Solutions Analyst - Enterprise IT - Al Futtaim Group - Dubai, UAE

We are looking for a talented IT Infrastructure Solutions Analyst to join our Enterpise IT Team, based in Dubai. This position reports to Head – Systems Emgineering in the Systems Engineering department in Infrastructure and Operations.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Provide consulting services on new initiatives providing benefit to group business units (small to large IT projects of varying complexity) and develops proposals for management approval depicting scope, approach, benefits, justification, TCO and ROI.
- Participate in or facilitate selection of vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives by developing criteria for and conducting a detailed due diligence and evaluation exercise using either a RFP process or independent research.
- Design and define overall system technical architecture - including software and hardware within the framework and constraints of technical architecture
- Assess, research and analyze requirements, exploring alternative options to recommend technology solutions and designs that meet sponsor needs and technical deliverables, maintaining operational reliability and security.
- Architecting and implementing highly available IT Infrastructure solutions across several locations including systems, security, data, voice and wireless.
- Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications for projects in accordance with security and architecture documentation objectives.
- Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, testing and implementation phases of project.
- Coordinate with users, service provides, business partners and hardware / software vendors to ensure successful implementation with minimal disruption to business.
- Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.

Requirements

A IT Infrastructure Solutions Architect assesses and analyzes infrastructure requirements, exploring alternative options and providing consulting services to management. Ability to visualize the trends in IT Infrastructure space and identify technologies for adoption.

Prepares high level and detailed technical specifications, working collaboratively with the Manager, to identify products to meet Infrastructure / business requirements and project objectives.

Person may function as a project leader. Emphasis is on consulting and incorporating IT Infrastructure solutions that will benefit the business, increase productivity and create a reliable IT infrastructure.

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Converged IT Infrastructure Design, Implementation and Support.
- 3+ years’ work experience on Information Technology projects supporting an enterprise-wide environment.
- Good knowledge in IT Infrastructure Technologies.
- Networking technologies – Voice & IP Telephony, Voice Consolidation, Wireless, Routers, Switches, WAN, Firewall.
- Platform Technologies – Microsoft Platform & System Center products; Collaboration Tools and systems, Enterprise Systems Management Tools and products; Private Cloud and Virtualizatoin solutions from leading vendors; Sytems & storage infrastructure from leading vendors.
- Network and Systems Security products.
- Must be an expert in at least two or more of the following – Enterprise storage & Data protection systems, Enterprise Management Systems, Teleophony solutions including VOIP, Private Cloud Infrastructure, Collaboration systems, Microsoft & Symantec platform products, Wireless solutions, Network & Systems Security, LAN & WAN Technologies.
- Skilled in leading detailed design phases and developing detailed technical requirements into project plan phases for successful implementation.
- Have an understanding of licensing models Microsoft, Symantec, IBM and other major vendors including those in the cloud
- Adept with figures and ability to evaluate, compare and negotiate on commercial proposals for products as well as complete projects. This includes creation of TCO for business case and effort estimation
- Must have full lifecycle experience including gathering requirements, design, test, documentation, configuration and maintenance
- Team Player, self-starter with the ability to complete tasks in an unsupervised environment
- Have high inter-personal skills including politeness, and positive general outlook.
- Analytical thinker, detailed oriented, with good problem solving skills and ability to multi-task and manage change effectively.
- Willing to work flexible hours and occasional weekends.
- Relevant Industry certification will have a higher preference
