IT Network Engineer

A Sharjah-based client we are working with specializes in providing comprehensive business solutions to startups and is looking for a Network Support Engineer to join them.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain the network infrastructure, encompassing switches, routers, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, VPN, and VOIP devices.
• Identify, monitor, and define the security requirements of the network, including network segregation, ACL, VDOM, IPS, NAC, ZTNA, virus protection, and deep inspection.
• Perform level 1 & 2 troubleshooting for issues related to internet outages/slowness.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Cisco products and FortiGate firewalls.
• Manage NAS storage and backup solutions effectively.
• Administer Cisco Meraki Access points to optimize network coverage.
• Configure and implement intrusion detection systems on firewalls.
• Utilize network monitoring tools such as Site24x7 and FortiAnalyzer.
• Test and assess the network for vulnerabilities in software and hardware.
• Investigate and resolve cybersecurity incidents as directed by the CSIRT.
• Conduct routine vulnerability and penetration tests across network assets, including servers, websites, and applications.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date physical and logical network diagrams.
• Verify and apply patches to network devices as required.
• Ensure secure backups of network software/firmware.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours or weekends for network maintenance and updates.
• Create, update, and revise network-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in external audits and provide necessary documentation/evidence.
• Interface with external users and customers to troubleshoot network-related issues.
• Coordinate with ISP providers for service installation or maintenance.
• Conduct training sessions for employees as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, BS/BE degree in computer science, Computer Communication or related IT fields.
• Previous experience as a Network Engineer
• CCNA/CCNP & Fortinet certified.
• Cisco Meraki Network Operator – CMNO (Preferred).
• CCIP (Preferred)
• Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
