IT Procurement Specialist

Job description / Role

Purpose of the Role:
- Align the local IT procurement activities to the global IT procurement policy
- Maximize the benefits of the IT contracts and supplier partnerships.
- Source and procure IT goods and services on behalf of the organization from partnered and contracted suppliers
- Ensure all the IT purchases meet specifications, pricing and quality, are delivered on time, in full and accurately invoiced against the approved purchase order

Responsibilities

IT Purchasing and Sourcing:
- Implementation of the IT procurement policy
- Ensure that all IT Procurement activities are conducted in accordance with the Global Procurement policy, its addenda and the country
- Ensure all IT procurement activities conducted within delegations of authority and that appropriate approvals have been provided prior to issuing purchase order for goods or services.
- Achieve best price for IT goods and services using strategic partnerships, negotiation skills and persuasion.
- Review the existing IT procurement processes and align them to procurement policy
- Participate in the selection of IT suppliers based on the procurement policy criteria
- Review and evaluate the performance of the IT suppliers based on the procurement policy criteria
- Report supplier non-conformances to Procurement Head
- Coordinate the necessary sign offs and documentation with compliance, legal and IT security as needed
- Ensure all the IT procurements are within the approved budget and document the necessary approvals for the non-approved budgets
- Process the Purchase orders and payment requests and maintain records.

Stock and Price Control:
- Ensure all IT goods and services sourced and delivered from contracted suppliers meet the quality and fixed contracted pricing
- Ensure the IT orders and Procurements are accurately documented and recorded
- Conduct comparative analysis on supplier prices

Requirements

Individual must have experience in IT Procurement and have a great working knowledge of software and hardware technology.

IT Degrees are preferred.

- Able to recognize problems, develop solutions and implement decisions compatible with organizational goals.
- Able to prioritize and perform under pressure, within tight deadlines.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to resolve difficult issues to a positive outcome.
