Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client, a leading UAE conglomerate is seeking an accomplished IT support engineer to provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up and support to the IT Manager. He is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Desktop operating systems, plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software.

Daily Tasks
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Provide desktop and occasional server support
- Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops
- Install authorized software to laptops and desktops
- Ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops
- Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops
- Fault-finding to laptops and desktops, and office equipment’s
- Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops, network equipment, printers, etc…
- Maintain and change printer/Fax/Photocopier cartridges
- Execute backup procedures and rotate and maintain backup media.
- Completing internal user moves including phones
- Patching of network and phones
- Making of network cables where necessary
- Ensure all logs for equipment and users are maintained
- Escalate IT issues to the IT Manager where necessary
- Ensuring all software purchased licensing is recorded and Maintained
- Support tablets and smart phones when necessary.
- Support Access Control, CCTV and attendance systems.
- Assist employees in registering their finger prints in the Biometric systems
- Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software.
- Execute routines to maintain the operational environment of the critical IT equipment’s.
- Managing the IT Assets inventory.
- Maintain the availability of cartridges in stock.

Occasional Duties:
- Undertake small to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT Manager.
- Install and configure servers.
- Liaise with external suppliers to trouble shoot mission critical systems.

Requirements

- A Degree in Computer Engineering or similar qualification
- Network+ / A+
- Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician
- MCTS System Centre 2012 certification
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- Good written and spoken English
- Arabic is a plus
- PLC knowledge is a plus.
