Junior Accountant

Job description / Role

JOB PURPOSE:
As a Junior Accountant, you will work directly with the Senior Accountants. Your main tasks will be to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company's finances.

Your main responsibilities will include invoicing to clients and sending out monthly invoices. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountants in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / TASKS:

- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Update accounts receivable and perform reconciliations.
- Prepare and send out monthly invoices to clients.
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statement and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
- Assist with reviewing of revenue, expenses etc. as assigned.
- Adhere to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
- Assist with other accounting projects.
- Cross checking and approving invoicing data to ensure accuracy and completeness of Revenue. Provide in depth analysis of Aged Receivable report to prioritize collections.
- Ensure client follow up is done on a regular basis to improve the Receivables turnover of the company.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, ACCA, CPA, ACA or equivalent
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Junior Accountant in a reputable company.
- Expert knowledge of Accounting software such as Xero, Dynamics, Netsuite, etc.
- Excellent communicator.
- Willingness to work under strict deadlines.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Well-organized.
- Need a positive attitude, attention to detail, patience, and persistence.
- Possess an analytical mindset with excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Possess confidence, structure, and energy in communication to effectively convey ideas to colleagues, senior management, and external parties.
- Self-driven individual.
- Excellent English language.
