Employment: Full Time

The Junior Legal Counsel will work as part of the international in-house Legal Team of a multinational company who is responsible for a wide range of legal work including but not limited to contractual, corporate, commercial, labour, IP, disputes and litigations and compliance matters.


The Junior Legal Counsel will be a member of the Legal Team and will report to the Legal Managers. He will provide legal support to Nestlé Head Office and Nestlé Operating companies in the Middle East market on a wide range of day-to-day legal issues, typically including:

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of contracts and legal documents including but not limited to supply and manufacturing agreements, third party logistic agreements, distribution agreements, NDAs, agency agreements, services agreements etc and ensuring that legal and Nestlé requirements are met within such documents;
- Providing legal advice to various business units within Head Office and Operating Companies in the Middle East market;
- Drafting Arabic legal documents and proof reading English documents;
- Supporting the Legal Team on the administration and maintenance of the legal documents;
- Developing and managing close and excellent working relationships and liaise with a wide range of both internal and external contacts, including but not limited to Procurement Department, external advisers etc.

Requirements

In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:

- Arabic language as mother tongue;
- Law Degree;
- Minimum 2-3 years PQE in an multinational company (preferably FMCG) or an international law firm;
- Commercial awareness and understanding of business needs (including awareness and sensitivity to differing international legal and cultural business practices and the flexibility to work within different cultural environments);
- Ability to assist other legal counsels and lawyers to negotiate legal issues and transaction documentation with counterparties;
- Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a small and international team and demonstrate a self-starting attitude and a high level of independent thought;
- Have strong organisational skills;
- Demonstrate a high degree of personal motivation and the desire to develop within the role;
- Be proficient with the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Ability to travel over the Middle East region;
- Presentation skills
