Job description / Role
Our client, a leading organisation in the UAE is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join their growing team in Dubai.
As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with external legal counsel and all internal stakeholders on all phases of the internal lending cycle; strategically liaise, advise, and guide the Retail and Wholesale banking functions on WB transactions, retail/wealth management/SME, and FRR team on all restructuring, and refinancing settlement discussions; and be responsible for documenting and providing legal structuring support in all transactional matters locally, regionally, and internationally focusing on conventional and Islamic finance matters, bilateral and syndicated, unsecured and secured, secondary credit market transactions, including funded and unfunded (risk) participations. You are also expected to assist the Transactions Group in all retail, treasury and investments, and funding matters.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, you should have a Legal Education and degree from a reputable local or international law school/university and be a certified and qualified Solicitor/Lawyer. You must also have 3-6 years of legal experience in a legal firm or in-house role, with local/regional and international experience specifically in banking and financial services. Sound advisory/counselling experience related to all retail and wholesale banking products and related cross border transactions regulations; and UK and other financial services regulatory frameworks and Islamic Finance and Shari’a regulations are required.
UAE National, with excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English, quality and action oriented, decisive, information-seeker, conceptual & innovative thinker, organized, excellent strategic coordinator across different functions and geographies is highly preferred.
