An Italian mid-high end Bespoke Kitchen Design Company is excitingly launching their office and showroom in Dubai, UAE and seeks a General Manager/Kitchen Design Manager to join their team.

As a leading kitchen brand with over 60 years year-on-year continuous company growth focusing on the medium–high-end market, the brand represents and retains true Italian history and values of ‘Made in Italy’.

With presence across more than 80 countries the business delivers both retail and local project concepts.

The candidate ideally would have experience working in the UAE, however is not essential as my client seeks a candidate who has the desire to succeed, and passion for kitchens, and kitchen design, as well as a desire to build this exciting business in the UAE. An additional plus would be to also have an understanding of the UAE construction industry.

The role, within this new company is to work along side the Managing Director and be the Lead Design Manager, with the opportunity to grow the business, your own team, and then lead and grow this exciting business across the region; dependent on experience, the opportunity to develop the role and your career to General Manager of this business is also available.

Previous kitchen interior design, management and project execution is essential. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.

Key tasks include but are not limited to:
- To initially be the lead designer, and to build and manage a design team that will carry out kitchen design proposals and eventually, grow into lead full interior design projects.
- Leads towards a cohesive and rational design solution that conforms to the project brief and is technically, legally and financially responsible.
- Takes responsibility for implementing approved briefing approach.
- Solves complex design problems through schematic design and design development.
- Present design schemes and documents to the client
- Liaises as necessary with client on issues of design.
- Perform interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents.
- Provides design support for completion and execution of design projects.
- Participation in business development effort.
- Stimulate awareness of the Company, its products and services to targeted and existing clients and prospect for new customers and business opportunities
- Meet with all relevant parties to develop and secure specifications
- Develop and manage relationships (Internal / external)

Requirements

- The role will involve an appreciation of the aesthetic & technical characteristics of luxury products and Interiors.
- It will also require knowledge of the local contract specification market.
- However candidates do not need to have a background in kitchen designs, as the required information will be provided through training and personal application.
- Training will be provided as required, which will take place at the factory in Italy, to enable the successful candidate to fit in to this market sector and the company itself.
- Experience in using AutoCAD and other 3D computer design programmes is essential.
- Personal attributes will include a high degree of customer service & communication skills, ambition, drive, resilience and enthusiasm. You will be able to plan, prioritise and organise your workload effectively.
- Strong planning abilities and have the ability to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership.
- Strong skills in client relationship management and presentation.
- An ability to work closely within a team is important. Other personal characteristics are honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic!
