Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

PURPOSE: Provide Windows, Virtualization & SharePoint Level 3 support for Managed Services customer environment. This includes Designing, Architecting, installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, documenting and upgrading all necessary technologies to ensure optimal datacenter performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide common and advanced system administration functions for local and remote systems including user administration, automation, patch management, backup and restore, capacity/log monitoring, clustering and replication.
- Prepares and executes systems maintenance plans to proactively manage reliability and service expectations.
- Responsible for auditing, upgrading, and managing OS’s on all production systems and components.
- Identifies and follows best practices in performance tuning and optimization to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks.
- Prepares and maintains technical documentation to assist in on-going operation, maintenance, and development of the enterprise services.
- Provides timely and frequent technical updates to customers
- Understands and supports agreed SLA services, this includes meeting response, resolution, reporting and RCA timelines.
- To assess the domain IT landscape assessment for gap analysis and infrastructure portfolio optimization
- Schedule/review/approve & execute production changes for the Wintel. Virtualization & SharePoint Infrastructure and ensure that the change requests and new projects are implemented within defined timelines
- Capacity Performance and Planning for Wintel. Virtualization & SharePoint Infrastructure
- Creation & Maintenance of operations checklists to be followed by L2 and L1 support teams.
- Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
- Lead transition activities for windows , virtualization and SharePoint domain including liaison with incumbent and client team
- Assist in identifying gaps and improvements needed for a customer in transition.
- Acquire, document and transfer knowledge to the team as part of the Transition process
- Prepare required documentation for all services as part of transition / project completion and handover
- Upto date with the existing skills and tools in the market
- Mentor and train other team members.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate well with internal and external contacts.
- Publish Known error articles into KB

Wintel L3 in Production Support with 24/7 Operation:
- Windows 2003/2008/2012 OS Administration & Support
- Windows 2003/2008/2012 Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS Administration & Support
- Windows 2003/2008/2012 Cluster Troubleshooting
- Microsoft Exchange 2003 /2007 /2010 /2013 Administration & Support
- Microsoft SQL 2003/2008/2012 Administration & Support
- Blackberry 5.x / 4.x Administration & Support
- WSUS SCCM Administration & Support
- Expertise in Microsoft TMG/UAG Server, & Citrix
- Backup Client experience i.e. NetBackup, BackupExec & TSM are preferred
- Demonstrated ability to use in-depth troubleshooting to resolve network or disk i/o issues using tools i.e. Wire Shark, Netmon or utilities like Powershell, etc
- Good Skills in VB Scripting, batch and PowerShell programming or in any other scripting language
- Good understanding of Server consolidation/Migration/Virtualization/Data Centre consolidation in X86 and RISC Domain
- Good understanding of IBM, HP, Dell Blades and Sun (RISC Servers) hardware
- Coordinate new servers rollout across multiple Wintel Infrastructure environments.
- Ensure that new servers are configured to corporate standards and compliance

Hyper-V/VMware L3 in Production Support with 24/7 Operation:
- Architecting Virtualization Solution using VMware or Hyper-V Industry standard hypervisor
- Data Protection, High Availability, Service Console Security Support
- VMware ESX builds Administration & Support
- VMware P2V and V2V Migrations
- vSphere Install/Configure/Manager Administration & Support
- VMware HA & DRS Administration & Support
- Understanding of SAN concepts and the SAN Fabric network – e.g. LUN provisioning, Zoning
- Script ESX Server deployments for remote installation

SharePoint L3 in Production Support with 24/7 Operation:
- Provide support on SharePoint servers on L2/L3 level for enterprise customers
- Strong working knowledge on SharePoint 2007/2010/2013
- Strong troubleshooting skills on SharePoint 2007/2010/2013.
- Knowledge in SharePoint development including application level support

Requirements

- BTech Computer Science.
- At least 12 years of experience in Designing, Architecting, Installing & Supporting Windows, Virtualization & SharePoint Infrastructure.
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems and standards.
- Able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non- technical team members
- Experience in managing and supporting enterprise class datacentre environment.
- Able to operate with minimal supervision
- Able to manage time effectively, set priorities appropriately
- Able to maintain professional demeanour under stress
- Able to operate within customer standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with IT Security and Architecture reviews
- Familiarity with handling and mitigating attacks related to viruses, and malware
- Hands-on investigation and log analysis exposure
- Well versed with ITIL V3 framework of service support.
- Good communication (both verbal and written) skills

Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
- Microsoft Core Solutions for Exchange Server 2013
- Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Virtualization Administrator
- Microsoft SQL Administrator 2012
- Server Virtualization with Windows Server Hyper-V and System Centre
- Microsoft certified Technology Specialist in SharePoint Server 2010
- VMware Certified Processional on vSphere5 VCP5
- ITIL V3 Certification.
- A+ and N+ experience (Desirable)
- Cisco Certified Network Associates(Desirable)
- Microsoft Private Cloud – System Centre 2012 (Desirable)
- Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 (Desirable)
