Landscape Architect

Job description / Role

To develop designs for landscaped environments for building interiors and exteriors, private gardens, major land developments and infrastructure and public & business parks from initial concept through design development to detailed design and tender documents.

Responsibilities include:
- Take an active role in business development and procurement of landscape architecture projects.
- Preparation of preliminary sketches and design details for hardscape and softscape.
- Supervise and provide direction to the Landscape Architect and CADD Technicans and ensure the technical quality and timely completion of all design work, coordination of plans and specifications with the other disciplines.
- Provide input to site supervision of landscape construction works.

Requirements

Suitable candidates will hold a BA Honors degree and post-graduate Diploma or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture, and have a minimum of 5 years experience in design of large landscape projects from concept and preliminary stages to construction documentation, some of which should have been gained in the Middle East.

In addition to a thorough knowledge of all aspects of landscape architecture, knowledge of coordination of landscaping works with associated engineering systems, including utilities, irrigation and external lighting is required. Good freehand presentation skills are essential and the ability to use Autocadd, 3D and Photoshop presentation software would be a significant advantage.
