Lead Landing Gear Engineer

Job description / Role

Our Dubai based Clients are part of one of the world’s largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products. They are engaged in servicing systems and components for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms.

They are currently searching for a Configuration Management Specialist - Lead Landing Gear Engineer.

- Inspection, repair and overhaul of aircraft landing gear and component removed from service
- Analysis of unit removal data to aid workshop visit including airframe data, engine data, internal unit NVM data
- Liaise with Technical support and Field service support to correctly identify root cause of units returned from service
- Support investigations and technical queries from Customer
- Support Technical queries from airline operators and engine manufacturers.
- Develop and provide training to enhance technical capability of repair base.
- Diagnose test rig breakdowns
- Support test rig upgrades
- Provide technical support and instructions to internal / external customers at their locations, when required, regarding the landing gear assembly, installation, and final check-off procedures.
- Act as owner of all Engineering processes including updating, training, monitoring, maintaining and supporting other employees in the Configuration Management Specialist role.
- Prepare, monitor budget and business/operational results within the team.
- Achieve budgeted throughput and productive man hours within defined parameters

Requirements

- Relevant Electronics or Aerospace degree / HND preferable or equivalent experience with 5-10 years of maintenance experience in Civil or Military Aviation;
- CAA or FAA Aircraft Mechanic License is a plus;
- Knowledge of aerospace, military and defense industries strongly preferred;
- Familiarity with airworthiness technical instructions (CMM, SB etc) and aerospace regulatory requirements (EASA, FAA, GCAA);
- Knowledge of Electronic engine control units preferable; diagnostics using Analogue and digital electronics with Acceptance Testing Equipment and procedures for complex electronic products;
- Experience in interpreting Blueprints and technical documents;
- Strong teamwork and leadership abilities;
- Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization;
- Ability to multi-task, and work under pressure in time-sensitive situations;
- Highly competent in assimilating quickly to new assignments with limited supervision;
- Ability to balance capacities of different shops to maximize overall customer delivery and effectiveness
