We are actively seeking a Switchyard Electrical Engineer / Inspector to join our client based onsite near Abu Dhabi. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work within a specialist nuclear organisation.

Provide Safety, quality and schedule oversight in order to ensure appropriate management for all Switchyard Electrical Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs), including but not limited to; electrical conduit, cable tray / ladder rack installation, cable pulling, cable terminations, cable epoxy splicing, distribution control system (DCS), junction box installation, panel installation, main control room installation, instruments calibration, instrument installation and connection, Station AUX transformers, LVAC DC systems, control / relay panel installation, earthing and lightning conductors. Support the GIS equipment supplier/contractor with interface connections with the Power Island and fiber optic cable laying / termination.
* Coordinate with Civil & Mechanical disciplines for site activities within the confined Switchyard areas.
* Raise recommended suggestions to help making decisions that meet project objectives.
* Advise on corrective actions or methods of repair for any deficiency or non-conformance identified in order to ensure work is carried out in an adequate and correct manner.
* Coordinate movement of equipment on site and access and egress routes.
* Provide methodical approach in the oversight of initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing of the project as it relates to the infrastructure.
* Manage the effective achievement of organisations objectives by setting up individual targets, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize subordinates and department performance.
* Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximise their effective performance.
* Facilitate communication both internally and externally
* Follow all relevant company's policies

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 7 years experience as well as a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering - minimum. With previous experience working through the planning, design and construction of a Nuclear Power Plant.

Technically must have Nuclear Safety awareness and knowledge of nuclear safety design principals. Knowledge of design techniques and tools in their discipline and 400kV GIS erection installation experience with knowledge of Transmission PTW systems. Also the ability to read technical drawings and virtual plant models and excellent MS office skills.
