Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Working alongside the senior legal team members and other lawyers in the team, you will support the business by assisting predominately the assigned portfolio and supplementary time with the legal corporate portfolio (which includes: finance, litigation, trademarks, cargo, corporate governance, general commercial/corporate work) across the Company's operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key Activities

• Perform legal and/or factual research and investigations as specifically assigned, analyze data and recommend course of action. Prepare reports to be provided to the Legal Affairs Specialist (or as may be directed) analyzing and concisely summarizing findings
• Ability to manage small transactions with little oversight from the senior legal team members including, without limitation, coordinating with internal and external parties
• Responsible for compiling, drafting, reviewing, amending and managing ancillary documentation
• Take personal initiative to grow, learn and develop legal knowledge and skills independently, which will ensure added value to the various legal work to be completed
• Take action as directed and needed to support senior team members. In the absence of senior team members, handle needed actions (as authorized) or route requested actions appropriately. Report actions taken and results to senior team members as appropriate
• Ensure all relevant legal files and databases are accurately organised and maintained both electronically and hard copies
• Handle other specific tasks and duties as directed by other senior team members
• Mitigating risk to the Company by effectively prioritizing various tasks and meeting deadlines timely
• Responsible for the use and continuation of standard form agreements and for maintaining processes of the legal department
• Commercial understanding and approach to legal principles

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Minimum Qualification

• Educated to Tertiary standard, i.e. Degree in Law or equivalent or a Professional Diploma
• Common/ or Civil law trained (as may be required) and admitted to practice

Experience

• 1-3 years post-graduation experience from a recognizable university with excellent academic results

Knowledge / Skills

• Excellent MS Office (Excel, Word) knowledge
• English fluency, good oral and written communication skills
• Arabic knowledge an advantage, but not essential

• Certificate / License required
• Law degree and Qualification certificate
