Job description / Role
JOB PURPOSE:
The Logistics Advisor is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping (import and exports), cargo handling along with arrangement of transportation. Assessing the supply chain operations, develop cost-effective solutions to optimize logistical procedures, and implement improvement strategies.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Handling import and export processes from different ports in UAE.
• Self-Managing the cargo handling operations or through third party.
• Dealing with Clearance and customs processes for different kind of shipment (Break bulks, containers, etc.).
• Responsible to manage and receive the full set of shipping documents that required for the clearance process.
• Negotiating for the most cost effective freight, clearance and inland transportation.
• Handling reports related to cost and delivery.
• Managing the Duty exemption process and fully aware about the demurrage fees of different ports in UAE with fully understanding for the legalization process of the documents.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education / Professional Experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years UAE experience in import and export regulations and processes from different ports.
• Fully aware with the Inco Terms and risks of different type.
Specific Knowledge
• Knowledgeable in Supply chain management.
• Proficiency and experience in ERP or SAP system.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving abilities.
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Excellent time management skills.
• Balance attention to detail with swift execution
