Job description / Role
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the logistics operations within the automotive industry. This includes managing the transportation of goods, organizing and monitoring stock levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods from suppliers to warehouses and from warehouses to customers.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels to ensure efficient inventory management.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Communicate with suppliers, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
• Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and storage of products.
• Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and deliveries.
• Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Train and supervise logistics staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and procurement, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of transportation, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
• Proficient in using logistics software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost-saving measures.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
