LV / AV Technician

Job description / Role

The Technician (AV-ELV) operates, maintains and repairs all hardware/electronic elements of the low and extra low voltage systems such as those used for communication, information storage, building automation and lighting controls, security systems, and fire-life-safety for the hotel.

He / she will be responsible for the completion of other services or duties as requested by the Chief Engineer. Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of AV and ELV systems while also having a good understanding of overall building operations is essential.

General Responsibilities Include:
- Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures
- Responds immediately to all work requests which concern Health and Safety
- Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner
- Operates, maintains and repairs all AV-ELV related equipment
- Ensures the optimum performance of all AV-ELV related equipment by effectively following the preventive maintenance and the shift readings programs
- Evaluates and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency
- Maintains a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions; as well as any other activities
- Reports and documents potential safety hazards

Requirements

- Familiar with Hotel (5 Stars ) systems
- Excellent personal presentation
- Needs to have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role in a five star hotel in the United Arab Emirates or the GCC region.
- Able to make rough estimates on materials and labour for tasks
- Ability to read and interpret AV/ELV/MEP and architectural drawings
- Proactive, creative and practical in problem-solving situations
- Positive and enthusiastic with a can do attitude
- High school certificate or equivalent
