Job description / Role
Our client is an international financial services company based in the UAE. They would like to hire a mid-level lawyer to join their established legal team. You will focus on their M&A matters as well as general financial services matters. You must be fluent in Arabic.
The candidate should have had a seat or have worked in Finance. In particular any work experience in Derivatives, Structured Finance and DCM (programmes and private placements and syndicated arrangements) would be of benefit.
- Any Prime Brokerage and/or Wealth Management / Asset Management would be a competitive advantage.
- A general understanding of standard finance arrangements, e.g. pledges, deeds, custody arrangements and other securities agreements would be essential.
- The candidate should have worked in private practice at a reputable UK/US firm ideally with secondment experience in a bank or worked as an in-house lawyer at a top tier bank in Europe/US or UK.
Requirements
- 3-5 yrs PQE
- Must be fluent in Arabic and English.
- Dealt with international, cross-border and local M&A transactions, advising on private and public deals on the buyer and seller side.
- Should be familiar with SPAs, dealing with disclosure arrangements, mandate letters and should have a knowledge of the required due diligence documentations typical for such transactions.
The candidate should be interested in banking in general.
- Very resilient, able to work under pressure in an international investment banking environment.
