Play Your Part
Contributes to the development and implementation of the departments accounting systems, policies and procedures. Supports the department through the collection, processing, reconciliation and reporting of financial data along with verifying the completeness and accuracy of source documentation. Maintains complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, and ensures the integrity of financial information. Supports the implementation and maintenance of an extremely controlled environment whilst working in cooperation with Internal Audit.

Main Duties:

- Maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, revenue recognition, accounts payable/receivable, assets & liabilities in accordance with IFRS
- Coordinate the month end process, including producing the month end timetable and control over the ledger closing activities
- Prepares the general ledger transactions and maintains control over the access levels of all finance staff in conjunction with the IT team
- Managing and guiding the accounts payable team and accounts receivable clerk with all aspects of their roles
- Responsible for allocated account reconciliations in particular the daily cash book and bank reconciliations
- Coordinate the delivery of the year end process
- Assist and cooperate with the internal and external audit process by maintaining and adhering to the policies and procedures throughout the year without exception
- Manage liabilities and commitments within budget constraints, including recording, reconciliation and settlement
- Manage receivables due to the department including the recording, collection, banking and bad debt write off
- Maintenance of the fixed assets register in accordance with DPR policy and ensure monthly reconciliations are provided

Requirements

Are You a Star?
In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria:

Essential:

- ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified or in the last stage of qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business or closely related field
- At least 5 years relevant finance experience
- Previous team leading experience preferable
- Prior experience with Microsoft Navision is desirable but not essential
- Advanced level working with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong technical accounting skills and confidence working with IFRS
- Strong planning and organizational skills, problem solving and attention to detail

Desirable:

- Other Financial Educational Certificates
- Ability to work under time constraints and know how to priorities workload
- Self -starter who can work independently and use own initiative
- Motivated and ambitious team player with a positive outlook
- Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of IFRS
