Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A leading organization from the banking sector based in UAE is looking to an experienced Manager Group Credit/Senior Manager Group Credit to join their dynamic team of professionals within the Central Risk department. The desired candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in Banking, SME, Corporate and Accounts in the UAE. The ideal candidate must have 5 years of experience in Credit function. The candidate must also have good knowledge of banking products, services & credit systems.

The responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Ensure that the credit quality is within the acceptable risk appetite.
- Evaluate and decision FAs with the PB and SME policy and as per DLA.
- Review and authorize excess on merits of the case and within DLA.
- Note approvals done by lower level DLAs and escalate issues if any.
- Help Head of Credit and Head of SME and PB Credit
- Conduct portfolio reviews.
- Developing Risk based FA process.
- Depute Head of Credit as and when required.
- Help enhance controls and efficiencies.
- Monitor exceptions and ensuring the delegated portfolio remains within the risk appetite.

Consistently be the right partner by:
- Providing world class knowledge and expertise on risk
- Help business to consistently and comprehensively identify risks and opportunities through FA, Risk-based client monitoring, client visits and participation in Early Alert Committee.
- Improve credit quality and process and demonstrate improvement in turn-around time, reduce refer backs to deliver volume growth within agreed costs.
- Help in identifying, exiting and the recovery process to minimize losses. Consider restructuring of facilities for weak accounts, meeting with these borrowers, attending meetings of Steering Committees, if a member.
- Help train the RMs from time to time.

Requirements

- Graduate degree from a financial background.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Banking, SME, Corporate and Accounts in the UAE.
- At least 5 years of experience in Credit Function.
- Knowledge of Banking products, services & credit systems.
- Ability to undertake financial analysis and identify risks in credit proposals with specialist knowledge and skills required for providing expert advice at a policy and strategic level.
- In-depth knowledge of the various dimensions of the Market and Industry with ability to keep updated on an ongoing basis and apply this understanding in business analysis and planning.
- Good understanding of the policies, regulations, procedures and can provide guidance and clarification to those involved in implementation.
- Good written communication; able to structure and prepare complex guidelines. Proposals and reports involving presentation and synthesis of diverse information in a logical and compelling manner.
- Conveys and explains operational or business information fluently and coherently in on-to-one and group situations.
- Analytical thinking to strategize according to departments needs.
- Systematic effort to obtain needed data or does formal research using wide range ‘of sources.
- Developing others and supporting team members as and when required.
- Proactively acts on something new to create a future opportunity or bring about an improvement.
- Application of experience and knowledge to make appropriate and timely decisions even when the facts or evidence may be ambiguous or incomplete.
- Acts to support the organization's missions and goals, makes choices and sets priorities to meet organization's needs, publicly acts to fit the mission.
