LEGOLAND Dubai & LEGOLAND Dubai waterpark are the UAE's home of the much loved LEGO brick and key destinations at the Middle East's largest integrated theme park resort Dubai Parks & Resorts, owned by DXB Entertainments and operated by Merlin Entertainments.

The Manager Human Resources is responsible for short and medium-term planning and management of the Human Resources function. Manage the department's expenses within approved budget constraints. Major areas of responsibility/management include, but are not limited to, employment of mid-level, supervisory and line staff, administration, organizational development, provide professional support to HR Department in devising and implementing recruitment strategy, managing manpower planning & budgeting, employee relations, compensation and benefits and employee development, payroll, PRO and HR day to day Operations. Work closely with Director - Human Resources in implementing, achieving and maintaining the park's and Merlin's goals and objectives. Participate in total park management as a member of the management team.

What will you do?

- Direct and oversee all park recruitment and hiring activities/processes from initial requisition through hire. This includes active recruiting, sourcing, screening, skills testing, pre-employment checks, compliance, arrangements of interviews with respective line managers, negotiating contract terms, selecting candidates and ensuring their smooth joining
- Assist in recruitment and interviewing of candidates for all positions
- Participate in the budget process as it relates to staffing, productivity, benefit costs, and employee relations costs
- Monitor staff turnover and recommend changes and improvements
- Advise managers of potential human resources opportunities
- Utilize proactive recruiting techniques and develop industry contacts to hire qualified and talented individuals
- Develop necessary pre-employment skills testing across LEGOLAND Dubai
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with a variety of professional, minority and community groups as well as educational institutions to foster recruitment efforts
- Maintain a current awareness and knowledge of UAE labor laws and compliance requirements and ensures compliance with all Equal Employment Opportunity and other government legal and corporate requirements
- Provide staffing status reports, hiring trends and analysis
- Work closely with HR team and business operators in manpower planning and budgeting of workforces
- Ensure utilization of existing manpower in terms of proposing transfers, promotions, job enrichment etc.
- Write job descriptions of new or revised positions, ensure their availability, analyze and recommend appropriate compensation packages as per the compensation guidelines
- Manage bulk recruitment of junior staffs according to agreed manpower schedules
- Prepare and provide records of budgeted and unbudgeted recruitments, weekly recruitment status report and recruitment related analysis and recommendations
- Execute Performance Appraisal Process to ensure that employees' performances are appraised on regular basis
- Propose a Career Progress Framework for employees for succession and talent management
- Provide inputs in designing and conducting trainings for employees on HR related matters such as performance appraisals, goal setting, job evaluation etc., to improve communication between employees and the Management
- Ensure that team members are provided learning and career development opportunities by identifying successors within the team, preparing them for the next accountable roles and recommending them for external trainings whenever required
- High priority has to be given to a healthy Emiratization for all positions with respect to culture understanding
- Training to be conducted for Hiring Managers to guarantee an efficient use of the recruitment software
- Regular reports to be presented to Director Human Resources and Hiring Managers to update them on recruitment status and outline difficulties
- Implement annual objectives for the Human Resources Department, including a departmental mission statement
- Maintain and ensure adherence to all personnel-related policies and procedures
- Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all employees' difficulties
- Apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems in order to perform and direct many varied and complex tasks
- Interact with employees in giving and receiving instructions, emphasizing relationships with supervisor, subordinates, co-workers and guests in completing assignments
- Directly facilitate, in conjunction with departmental heads, open employee communications to discern grievances and to respond to those grievances in all appropriate manners, including redressing those meriting correction
- Support park-wide communication and interact in courteous and professional manner with all employees, suppliers and community members
- Supervise, direct, coordinate, influence and persuade employees in order to maintain service standards of the park
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of work areas and employee areas, including, but not limited to, the employees' canteen, common area and locker rooms
- Maintain park's human resources information system so as to provide accurate employee records that comply with all applicable general and local laws
- Direct and oversee all park disciplinary cases activities/processes from the investigation through the outcome. This includes preparing allegation letters, investigating, taking minutes and communicating the outcome to the employees
- Provide direction and support in the administration of the disciplinary process
- In conjunction with the Director - Human Resources, serves as member of the management team and work closely with all managers in supporting and achieving the park's goals and objectives
- Handle employees' related queries, grievances on regular basis to ensure fairness and consistency in all HR related approaches and confidence building between HR and employees
- Interact with PRO to administer new employees' employment related matters
- Manage and control the actual cost verses budget on periodic basis and provide financial reports
- Develop and implement policies, procedures and processes for the respective function/department and ensure reviewing and keeping the existing ones updated
- Ensure that productivity and service delivery of the department is improved on continuous basis by keeping team members motivated and retained
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Management Team

Requirements

Are You a Star?
In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria:

Essential:

- Preferable Bachelor degree with substantial work related experience as Manager - Human Resources or equivalent work experience for 5 or above years in Hospitality or Theme Parks.

Desirable:

- L&E/Hospitality industry experience

Job-Specific Skills:

- Very strong administration skills
- Able to focus and prioritize
- Fluent English in both oral and written
- Advanced Excel experience
- Interview Skills
- Previous work experience in Hospitality or Theme Park
- Able to guide and lead co-workers
- Training and Coaching knowledge
- Familiar with Social Media (Linkedin / Facebook / Instagram.)
- Ability to access, input, analyze and retrieve information from computers
- Good knowledge of wage and salary, employment and benefits administration and payroll
- Knowledge of local Employment Act and UAE Labor Law
- Ability to be proactive and reactive to anticipated and sudden changes especially as they relate to the labor situation
- Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks and to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions
- Ability to create, implement and monitor organization, park and staff goals, strategies and policies
