Manager - Open Yard, Solutions

Job description / Role

The Manager, Open Yard, Solutions is responsible for:

• Managing and analyzing operational budget and expenses (full P&L accountability for open yard operations).
• Establishing and overseeing the implementation of set Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Designing and implementing policies and procedures for open yard operations in line with DSV regional policy, global best practices, and local business requirements for achieving operational excellence.
• Working with the Director and rest of the Business Units in Abu Dhabi operations to increase revenue and profitability.
• Setting and achieving business unit’s financial and operational goals.
• Working closely with the business development team for identifying new opportunities and on-boarding new clients.
• Providing support in pricing, tendering, and designing the process flow of new perspective warehousing facilities.
• Managing and monitoring the existing open yard operations.
• To meet client on frequent basis.
• To work on the open yard’s inventory and billing system and ensure its full utilization.
• Monitor monthly client billing to for achieving EBIT delivery.
• Adapt and implement new innovative ideas utilizing the breakthrough technology to enhance the open yard services.
• Directing the inventory management team to implement new inventory control procedures to achieve worldwide standards.
• Overseeing and approving all internal Service Level Agreement (SLA) between open yard and other departments.
• Ensuring IMS is followed without any non-conformance.
• Overseeing and approving trainings and staff development program for open yard team.
• Performing any other related duties / projects assigned by the Director from time to time to meet business exigencies.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in related field; a Masters degree is preferable.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in managing large open yard facilities.
• Knowledge of local, regional and global industry laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.
• Great interpersonal skills and a good team leader.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
