Employment: Full Time

Synopsis

Lead and manage safety investigations/ audits and recommends improvement actions to improve safety performance. Identify trends and address system and process deficiencies with management leading change ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and improving safety standards. Design and deliver training that meet GCAA and NAA regulatory requirements and establish communications to increase awareness and encourage continuous improvement of the organization's Safety Management Systems (SMS) on safety and compliance matters and best practices across the organization.

Accountabilities

- Manage safety related internal and external investigations to establish via RCA corrective actions and promote continuous improvements.
- Establish key performance indicators to measure safety culture throughout the entire organization.
- Develop and communicate safety policies and strategies to other departments to ensure buy-in and commitment to the organisation's safety goals, risk management strategy and operational safety performance.
- Provide expert guidance and active participation to the organisation to establish measures for safety performance indicators.
- Develop the syllabi for SMS training modules in response to mandatory National (GCAA) and International NAA requirements for safety training, striving for continuous improvement.
- Lead business improvement workshops within EYE departments to measure and improve overall engineering safety performance and to challenge the status quo and encourage peers to try new approaches.
- Generate successful new ideas that improve safety performance and safety culture.
- Build and manage close relationships with all operational line managers and develop Safety Partners that drive the development of Safety Culture.
- Control the editorial and presentation of safety information externally and internally including Safety and Quality Review Board meeting, Safety Action Groups meetings, safety newsletters, periodic safety information bulletins, banners and posters.
- Develop, plan, organise and manage internal and external safety events such as seminars, workshops, conferences and other safety related events.

Requirements

Education & Experience

- University degree in an aeronautical or business management degree (eg MBA) and/or valid aircraft maintenance engineer licence (ICAO Type II)
- At least 10 years overall working experience gained in aviation quality and safety environment function, of which at least five years should be within quality assurance conducting incident investigations.
- At least one recognized safety/investigative qualification is required, ideally formal safety related training (e.g. SMS, ARMS, FEMA, MEDA etc)
