Our newest opportunity is for a talented Marine Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

This position is responsible for maintaining proper and complete communication with the client's site engineers on all project related issues and to review, understand and implement contract drawings and specifications on site.

Responsibilities

We envisage success in this role to include:

- Provide project management input into the development of cost & schedule estimates for proposed marine maintenance works within AD Ports Group Assets.
- Prepare tender documents and provide technical input for the required marine maintenance works within AD Ports Group Assets.
- Review O&M manuals that are submitted as part of any newly completed marine projects. Interpret O&M manuals of existing marine structures and plan and implement required conditional assessments and maintenance requirement for existing marine assets.
- Conduct regular site visits to visually assess the conditions of the marine assets and recommend required conditions assessment and/or maintenance works.
- Lead and Manage all project management activities and liaising with CPD for procurement activities and award of the works to a nominated contractor all the way through the process to handover and maintenance management.
- Oversee the delivery of maintenance works in terms of HSE, quality, budget and schedule to meet end user requirements.
- Support developing and obtaining approval of budget and schedule for future maintenance works.
- Responsible for management and delivery of the existing maintenance works including monitoring commercial issues, monitoring progress, and monitoring compliance with project requirements.
- Involvement with "Asset Handover" phase and report to management teams on any observations found.
- Oversee the execution of marine maintenance works from handover to contractor to issue of takeover of the works.
- Lead the facilities management Marine project management activities through the "Close Out" phase including assessment and resolution of claims.
- Experience in Project/ contract management, with specific experience in management of small marine works to suit asset requirements.
- Maintenance experience of breakwaters, beaches, rock groynes, dredging and reclamation, quay walls, quay furniture and other maritime structures.
- Good level understanding of design of marine assets being handled, including Maritime/Civil/Coastal/Infrastructure within port environment.
- Familiar with relevant codes of practice.
- Good understanding of planning techniques for all aspects of Marine maintenance works from design through to site works, testing and commissioning, and handover.

Requirements

Qualifications

- To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years' experience post-graduation in marine/heavy civil or related fields partnered with a Bachelor degree in a relevant field such as Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, etc..
- Knowledge of port and marine operations and previous experience with maintenance management works in ports and marine are essential.
