Market Advisor (Agriculture)

Job description / Role

Our client is an international government trade entity based in Dubai.

Responsibilities would be as follows:
- Market Access Research and Analysis
- In close coordination with the Agriculture Counsellor, research and identify key Market Access issues and emerging trends within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as within the wider Middle East and North Africa region as directed
- Monitor, analyse and summarise press and other media sources to stay informed on current events and developments relevant to market access.
- Provide initial draft reports on relevant agricultural issues
- Report on trends and potential contacts of interest/relevant in consultation with seconded staff
- Effectively use and contribute to the post’s map of relationships that matter: decision makers, policy makers, thinkers and influencers
- Identify and facilitate constituency building programme, targeting key decision makers in relevant government agencies and local organisations
- Respond to general policy and trade related enquiries as necessary.
- Investigate, assess, and report on market access issues impacting on primary products and food, and identify solutions to resolve difficulties in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant agricultural information and relevant market access conditions as required
- Maintain current list of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements/standards in areas as focus as needed
- Analyse developments in agricultural policy and in technical requirements of import regulations with respect to products of interest
- Contribute to resolving agricultural trade access issues in consultation with seconded staff and policy adviser (trade and economic)

Requirements

- MUST be already based in the UAE (all applicants from outside the UAE will not be contacted)
- Must have an interest in Agriculture evident on the CV
- Ability to develop policy advice
- Critical thinking and analytical ability
- Degree educated
