Our client is a leading international law firm and is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Executive.

The purpose of this role is to assist the Business Development Manager for to implement the BD plans of the group. This will involve gaining an understanding of the practice areas and industry sectors in which the group operates in order to assist with the lead generation and sales function of the team. The role will also involve working closely with other members of the Business Development and Marketing team to support various firm-wide initiatives.

This full-time position is based in the UAE and reports to the Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager, taking day-to-day instructions from both the local and regional fee earners (FEs). The role holder is an integral member of the Middle East BD & Marketing (ME BDM) team, supporting regional practice groups/offices and working on both office-specific and regional BD projects. S/he will also work closely with the global BDM team as required.

The key responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:

Pitching and market intelligence
- Bids - promote general pitch best practice from bid alert through to presentations and client debrief. Produce pitches/ manage experience statements. Manage the Proposals Tracker, including win/loss reporting. Support the global BDM team with regional/global pitch requests. Support the Senior BDM Manager to develop and rollout improvements to the bids process.
- Market Intelligence - conduct research via appropriate resources on existing/prospective clients/opportunities and track industry/market trends (including competitor tracking) to support KAM/regional BD initiatives.
- FE Profiles - work with the ME BDM Coordinator /FEs to ensure that pitch CVs and website bios are regularly updated and improved.

Events and seminars/conferences
- Conferences/Sponsorships - negotiate key local/regional sponsorship/advertising deals as appropriate to fit within strategy and budget.
- Firm Events - manage/support client events from start to finish, working closely with the ME BDM Coordinator and wider BDM team. Ensure FEs proactively drive appropriate attendance. Lead event debriefs/manage feedback/track follow-up.
- Database - work with the ME BDM Coordinator /FEs to drive improved use of Interaction in supporting events, including arranging appropriate training/support as necessary.

Profile and internal/external communications
- Directories - manage/support relevant ME/global submissions/interviews for key legal directories, including supporting the ME MBD team lead to rollout improvements to the legal directory process.
- PR - work with the Head of BDM/Senior BDM Manager to ensure that wins/awards/deals/new laterals etc. are properly communicated, both internally and externally.
- Profile building - support the regional groups to improve profile, including proactively tracking opportunities with key legal and trade journals and sharing with groups as appropriate.

Marketing materials and client alerts
- Collateral - drive the production of tailored materials such as office brochures/group experience statements - including managing internal processes/ensuring that relevant deadlines are met.
- Client alerts - drive/manage client alerts, including proactively feeding through office news/deals/articles for publications such as regional/global updates/other alerts.
- Website - ensure that the firm website is up-to-date/adequately reflects the skills/experience of the regional network. Support the ME BDM Coordinator/ wider BDM team to roll-out website development projects.

Miscellaneous
- Share information and best practice with the ME BDM team and attend weekly meetings.
- Support the Senior BDM Manager to plan for/deliver strategic internal events and training.
- Support the Head of BDM to deliver regional/office MBD plans and budgets, and support the subsequent delivery of regional BDM initiatives.
- Support/lead key regional cross-selling initiatives, including but not limited to individual practice group and wider global initiatives.

Requirements

- Over five years' experience gained in a professional services or consultancy environment, law firm experience is preferred.
- Exceptional eye for detail and a good level of technical competence.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong project management skills with a pro-active approach.
- Ability to take responsibility for and lead projects.
- An appreciation of a partnership environment and specific issues affecting the delivery of legal services.
- Ability to work effectively with and motivate partners and others.
- Self-motivated and able to demonstrate determination and persistence.
- Good team player.
- Must reside in the UAE.
