Material Controller (Aviation)

Job description / Role

To control and schedule Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to Maintenance schedules or department priorities.
- Reviews Maintenance schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material.
- Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability.
- Examines material delivered to Maintenance departments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Computes amount of material required to complete job orders, applying knowledge of product and maintenance processes.
- Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process Maintenance reports, and status and location of materials.
- Follows recommendations with respect to new procedures and work practices.
- Ensure and comply safety, health and environmental procedures of work and staff.

Requirements

* Degree/Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
* 5 years’ experience in Material planning & Control
* Technical knowledge of Aviation products and materials.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with effective problem solving abilities
* Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organisation and external customers
