Job description / Role

Employment: Contract

The Senior HR Manager is responsible for the Dubai based HR team, ensuring the department runs efficiently and inline with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

HR Service Delivery:
• Responsible for day-to-day delivery of the HR function.

Management Responsibility:
• Responsible for the day-to-day management, engagement and development of the Dubai based HR team. Drive the team to progress projects, initiatives and activities, including but not limited to performance management, engagement, operational issues and talent management.

Business Partnering:
• Contribute to the development of the people strategy for the MEA business.
• Build relationships within the business to ensure that HR is a strategic business partner within the client groups, contributing to business planning and strategic discussions by providing commercial advice and support on all HR operational issues.
• Support the Partners to ensure their business and people strategy is aligned with business objectives.
• Work with Partners and the wider business to ensure initiatives and solutions have full support ahead of implementation. Influence and support change management across the practice.
• Propose new ideas that may lead to better strategic decisions.
• Work with Partners to ensure that the structure of their practice areas meet the Firm’s commercial and strategic needs.

Remuneration and Benefits:
• Work with the relevant stakeholders in MEA and globally to run a commercial salary review process which responds to market challenges and retains talent, leading project team (comprising HR, Finance and others).
• Keep up to date with market developments (legal and other industries) both in MEA and globally, in terms of employee incentives and benefits.
• Review our regional benefits in light of what is offered in the market, internal feedback and in particular look at how we can capitalise on non-financial reward for our employees.

Performance and Development:
• Support the business to embed a culture of ongoing feedback.
• Work with the HR team to continue to develop and refine the competencies for fee earners to ensure that our people development systems are appropriate and fit for the purpose of our changing business.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements
• A strong commercial understanding of the practical application of HR and able to quickly build credibility with staff across all levels of the business.
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills understanding and appreciating the need to "take people with you" rather than just implementing policy/ rules.
• Possessing a flexible approach to dealing with challenging situations whilst remaining professional in order to achieve the right outcome for the business.
• Ability to display gravitas with and to challenge senior stake holders.
• A solid understanding of Middle East employment law and strong employee relations experience.

Essential Skills & Experience:
• Excellent planning and organisation skills; a proven ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and use initiative as appropriate.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment.
• Articulate, confident with the ability to express oneself confidently and concisely both orally and in writing and to communicate effectively with a range of people at all levels.
• Experience of working to tight deadlines, often under pressure, effectively.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in difficult circumstances.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Flexible work style and ability to manage peaks and troughs in workload as required.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Good leader/manager/delegator
• Lateral thinker who is able to provide pragmatic commercial solutions
• Middle East experience for this role is essential.
• Given the upcoming projects, experience in the design and execution of salary review is desired.
