Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Are you an MEP Commercial Manager with 10+ years in the MEP Construction industry, that has previous Middle-East experience? Are you from an MEP Quantity Surveying background with experience of leading teams of MEP Quantity Surveyors? If this is you, I have a fantastic opportunity for an MEP Commercial Manager to further your career. You will be working with a Western MEP sub-contractor working on some huge iconic projects. A company who have worked on some of the most eye-catching Malls, High-Rise Buildings and Hotels in the GCC.

Job objectives include:
- Review of Regional Cost to Complete (CTC) Reports and ensure the robustness of the Reports taking into account the risk / opportunities have been understood by the GM.
- Validation of PM Budget / Revised PM Budgets after handover from Estimation.
- Ensure Contractual / Commercial procedures are upheld within Region. Updating with current policies and practices.
- Ensure Contractual Extension of Times, Disputes and Variations Notices are issued in a correct and timely manner, along with submissions and are closed out in a timely manner by the site Commercial team.
- Ensure the Project Teams submit Payment Applications on time and ensuring Valuations are correctly applied for in accordance with Sub-contract.
- Give Contractual advice on Sub-contract documentation, negotiation of Sub-contract and review and sign off on Sub-contract Terms and Conditions.
- Give contractual advice on Supply Chain Sub-contract Agreements, Supplier Agreements, Design Agreements and Labour Supply Agreements in particular relating to Payment Terms.
- Aiding the Project Commercial team in Contractual Letters and disputes.
- Aid the site Commercial team in closing out Variations, and negotiating Final Accounts with Main Contractors / Sub-contractors.
- Liaise with Pre-contract Team to ensure the Sub-contract has been vetted and advice on scope ambiguities.
- Liaise with Project teams and ensure the team are adhering to the Labour, Prelim Budgets.
- Reviewing Project Risk / Opportunities, and advising on solutions to help maximise the profitability of the project whilst minimising its risk.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Project Financial Reporting for Regional Projects.
- Payment Applications, Certifications and Payment Receipts for Regional Projects
- Recruitment / Training of Commercial team updated to current practices in the Region.
- Risk management of the Regional Projects.
- Variation Notifications, Submissions, agreement for all projects in Region.
- Dispute Notifications, and mutual agreement of Disputes for Regional Projects.
- Cashflow Forecasting and providing clear strategies to improve cashflow and margin on Regional Projects.
- Insurances, Performance Bonds and Advanced Payment Bonds are valid and upto date.
- Negotiation and agreement of Final Accounts with Main Contractors and Major Sub-contractors.
- Contractual advice, procedures, and Commercial standards are met by Projects within Region.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying or other relevant degree preferred.
- RICS qualification is a plus.
- 10+ years in the MEP Construction industry with previous proven MEP Commercial Manager experience.
