Job description / Role
Our client is a leading contractor looking for a well experienced MEP Commercial/Contracts Manager to join their well established team. As you will be responsible for all commercial and contractual aspects relating to MEP in Qatar or UAE (two live vacancies at the moment) you must have experience in
- Reviewing of contractual letters from clients and major subcontractors and respond or reviewing / providing contractual assistance for the same.
- Respond / offer assistance / draft in timely manner.
- Timely notification of known delays / disruptions / extra work by making regular contemporary records through project tem as delays stoppages arise.
- Liaison with project team in seeking extension of time and drafting where applicable also formulation of variation orders.
- Revision and minimization of any imposition of liquidated damages by follow up with project team for extension of time
- Review / assist project team in preparation of claims, regular tracking and follow-up of claims.
- Update copy of signed contract document to include all amendments and search out pre-award letters
- Post contract administration of contracts including processing of interim invoice applications, re-measurement of work and preparation / evaluation of claims variations and settlement of final accounts
- Liaise with the contracts control division, finance and legal department to ensure that contract strategies, tender and contracts are in full compliance with company policies and procedures
- Coordination for preparation of contracts appreciation documents
- Claim and change management with clients and subcontractors
- Keep up to date with market trends and new developments utilizing information for business improvement.
- Research vendor’s / supplier’s capabilities; identify a pool of candidate vendors / suppliers for project consideration.
- Conduct the financial and contract negotiations at the appropriate management level.
- Review tender documents and offer comments on condition of contract favouring the company and convey the risk evaluation of various terms and conditions.
Requirements
For this role you will possess over 15 years experience within MEP projects worth 400 million AED or more. You must have also been working in contracts / commercial for the past 5 years with MRICS is preferred. Strong leadership skills and good project commercial knowledge is essential for this role.
