Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Monitor all Mechanical Engineering networks aspects of the project to ensure compliance with approved and proper standards.
- Inspect and test mechanical parts, assemblies and accessories prior to installation for conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) with technical qualifications to evaluate and determine and assure conformance to specifications for all HVAC and mechanical piping systems.
- Liaise with the other Inspectors and Project Engineers to provide support and guidance required to assure the project delivers and achieves total fitness for use.
- Review and monitor variations to the work to mitigate time and cost impacts.
- Coordinate and support Client Representatives and HILL Project Management Consultant (PMC) Team Management to confirm all construction and installation conforms to contracted deliverables.
- Inspect all construction and mechanical system installations by the contractor against the scope of works, Issued For Construction Drawings (IFC) and the total of Client’s contracted standards and relevant regulatory agencies standards for all works completed in place.
- Manage safety aspects when dealing with Mechanical networks installations.
- Provide progress reports, key open concerns and issues logs, and track all pertinent non¬conformance issues frequently with emphasis on timely resolution and completion on the field.
- Expedite NOCs from relevant authorities to protect the schedule and avert delays that waste resources and time.
- Coordinate frequently with Client’s designated representatives on open issues that potentially impact the site progress, Procurements, approvals and decision-making.
- Monitor Mechanical installations to ensure that only approved materials are being used in the temporary and permanent works.
- Maintain registers of all submittals and testing, both on site and off site.
- Maintain full site records, including daily site logs in an approved format, and formal monthly progress reporting.
- Prepare reports related to inspections and quality of the works.
- Submit Daily, Weekly and Monthly progress reports as stipulated in PMC procedures and to complete Client’s reporting standards.
- Provide assistance in Testing and commissioning of the facility.
- Use the Contractor’s Master Construction Schedule and periodic updates to evaluate and monitor the progress of work against contracted key dates and claimed progress compared to actual recorded completed work in place.
- Integral with all other responsibilities is the observation and awareness at all times for any conditions affecting worker and workplace safety, together with timely follow-up with assigned HSE Officer.

Requirements

Must have at least 8-10 plus years MEP Engineering experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor of Science)
Experience in HVAC or Public Health (sewerage, Drainage, potable water, etc..)
