Network Consultant

Job description / Role

A leading client in Dubai is looking to hire a Network Consultant to work in their office to lead networking projects and working closely with the systems engineer to deliver infrastructure implementation objectives.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:
- Lead networking related projects and assist in other system related projects where required
- Install new / reconfigure existing switches and other networking hardware, services, settings, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Hardening existing switches and routers as per best practices and security audit requirements
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and documentation
- Produce networking diagrams using Microsoft Visio or other related software
- Perform daily system monitoring
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions and produce summarized weekly/monthly reports
- Optimize Wi-Fi around the offices and plan for expansion projects
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
- Coordinate and communicate with impacted vendors

You will be required to support the following systems and networks:
- HP Switches
- VLAN Management
- DMZ Management
- Hyper-V Networking
- Aruba Wireless Network
- Sophos UTM and Firewall
- DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP management
- LAN/WAN optimization and troubleshooting
- User and Client VPN
- WAN Optimization
- Site-to-Site VPN
- Site-to-Site Replication
- Failover and Disaster Recovery
- Solar Winds Monitoring System

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science (or related)
- IT certifications i.e. HP ASE/ATP/ATA, Network+, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, ITIL
- At least four years network administration experience
- Experience in delivering key networking infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of ITIL standards for IT service delivery
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Must be professional and comfortable working in a prestigious company
- Must have excellent communication, be proactive, have a ‘can do’ attitude
