Al Noor hospital Group is looking for Neurologist Specialist for its newly opened specialty clinic in Al Madar - Al Ain

- Primarily is responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient neurological care by examining, diagnoses and treats and disorders of the nervous system.
- Performs neurological examinations of the nerves of the head & neck; muscle strength and movement; balance, ambulation, and reflexes; and sensation, memory, speech, language and other cognitive abilities.
- Competent to treat some of the core neurological diseases that are the primary domain of neurologists are:
- Demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system.
- The epilepsies
- Headache and migraine
- Movement disorders
- Polyneuropathies
- Spinal cord disorders
- Genetic diseases with a primarily neurological manifestation

Must be able to perform & read diagnostic tests such as the following:
- Lumbar puncture (spinal tap)
- EEG (electroencephalography)
- EMG/NCV (electromyography/nerve conduction velocity)
- Must be able to order and studies results of chemical, microscopic, biological, and bacteriological analyses of patient's blood and cerebro-spinal fluid (ESF & Blood) to determine nature and extent of diseases or disorder
- Identify presence of pathological blood conditions or parasites and prescribes and administers medications and drugs.
- Supervises medical activities in operation of, and serves as consultant on electroencephalographic apparatus and other neurological diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
- Formulates plans and procedures for neurological services.
- Must refer the patient to a neurosurgeon when surgical intervention is required.
- Demonstrate efficiency in treating people with hereditary (genetic) diseases.
- Use appropriate counselling, motivational, and behaviour change techniques and skill. This may also involve patients' carers or other family members where appropriate
- Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioners when necessary.
- Provide consultation and assistance to other physicians and surgeons.
- As requested or permitted, participate in research activities which contribute to the overall accomplishment of the mission of the hospital.
- Follows policies and procedure for infection control and facility safety in accordance to hospital guidelines.
- Identifies and trains staff to develop professional skills
- Participates in medical conferences and meetings inside and outside Al Noor Hospital.

Requirements

Must have a doctor of medicine degree or a doctor of osteopathy degree from an approved school of medicine or osteopathy is mandatory, with not less than 3 years specialty training in an accredited neurology residency program.

Relevant license as outlined by a nationally recognized Medical certifying body is mandatory.

Must have HAAD / DHA License.
