Job description / Role
Job purpose:
Provide supervision for the daily maintenance and operation of three wastewater treatment plants (2 No. KEZAD, and 1 No. Jebel Ali) ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide effective communication and coordination with client and own management team maintaining high Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards, which is done in line with the organisation's needs to comply with business objectives in the short, medium and long terms and in accordance with the terms of our various contracts and the Integrated Management System.
Job requirements:
• Strictly follow and implement the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures of both the client and Veolia.
• Ensure the plant and equipment are available and well maintained to produce compliant Treated Sewage Effluent as per contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare the duty schedule of the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) team.
• Observe potential problems and take corrective actions in coordination with management and client.
• Make sure the plant equipment and work area is cleaned and organized as per 5S.
• Conduct tool-box-talk with O&M team.
• Promote team building.
Operation:
• Develop and implement log sheets to record the operational parameter at each stage of the process, chemical consumption records, etc. in accordance with permit requirements.
• Develop and implement internal sampling schedules and compliance monitoring in accordance to the contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Plan, organize and supervise the execution of all day to day operation and maintenance activities.
• Develop and Maintain the records and log of operation and maintenance activities.
• Maintain inventory of process chemicals and organize the purchase when required.
• Organize the purchase of lab chemicals, consumables and other parts & consumables whenever required.
• Optimize the use of chemicals & consumables.
• Be available to work off hours in case of requirement.
Maintenance:
• Must be able to attain the Permit To Work (PTW) receiving authority approval from the client and lead all the maintenance works at site.
• Prepare and update Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) and develop Method Statement and Risk Assessments (MSRA).
• Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance Plan.
• React to all corrective maintenance and planned maintenance, this includes getting approval, executing the work, completing actual and failure reports.
• Prepare the annual maintenance budget to be reviewed and approved by senior management.
• Coordinate with the supply department for issuing of spares, raising requests for new materials and to evaluate technical offers.
• Develop and maintain critical spare parts list, ensure stock availability otherwise communicate to the client.
• Develop and implement Equipment inspection checklist to identify the failures at early stage, must be able to promptly address the issues and solutions in terms of corrective maintenance.
• Diligently perform any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of his/her line manager.
Quality Health Safety & Environment :
• Understand, implement and follow the Veolia/OSHAD QHSE policies.
• Report any HSE incident immediately, as per VESE HSE procedures.
• Implement and coordinate QHSE procedures onsite.
• Implements and encourages the behavioral based safety culture through safe job observations.
• Perform daily meetings with subordinates to monitor and promote a safe workplace.
• Actively participate in the HSE incident investigations and prepare required reports in consultation with the department's manager.
• Never attempt to do the job in an unsafe manner which may adversely affect them, co-workers and/or the general public.
• Carrying out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with QHSE procedures.
• Consult seniors , if aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation.
• Obtaining and using the correct tools/equipment for the work and not to use any that are unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in good condition in the approved place after use.
• Using the correct personal protective clothing/equipment and follow the safety requirements and procedures.

• Ensure excellent communication with Client and Management to address any issues related to maintenance, water quality, manpower, etc.
• Ensure effective and prompt communication at all times.
Requirements
Educational requirements :
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent from a well recognised and reputable academic institution fit for the required job function.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in the field of wastewater treatment plant or similar facility.
Technical skills required :
• Good knowledge of the relevant Engineering.
• Valid UAE light vehicle driving license is a must.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• General knowledge of Environmental hazards and HSE principles.
• Innovative and continual improvement mindset.
• Effective problem identification and problem solving.

IT Skills :
• Proficiency in Google suite and apps.
• Working knowledge and high level of proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
