Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A reputable trading company is currently recruiting for an Officer – Trade Operations

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Supplier & Buyer to coordinate bulk and container shipments within specific timeline.
- Update Supplier/Buyer with the latest information on the shipments.
- To ensure that all the paperwork/documents required for each shipment are in place before vessel’s arrival.
- Prepare shipping documents such as Invoice, Packing List , once shipment has departed
- To arrange for Pre-shipment Inspection at loading/discharging port, if necessary.
- To monitor receivables / payables and follow-up with Buyer on late payments
- To establish Letter of Credit and prepare/handle full set of documents required to negotiate Letter of Credit
- Ensure that documents submitted to bank for negotiations are compliant and without discrepancies
- Update registers/monthly reports

Requirements

c- Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in similar functions preferred (ie shipping/forwarding, import/export documentation, L/C issuance and negotiation)
- Able to work independently under tight timeline. Prepared to work long hours (when necessary) in a fast paced, challenging environment
- Meticulous with strong focus on details
- Result oriented, positive mindset and strong organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels
- Proficient in MS office applications
- Excellent command of English language (written and spoken) and any other languages is an asset
- University Degree
