Mediclinic Middle East are looking for compassionate and highly skilled Optometrist for a newly available position at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, Al Garhoud, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Mediclinic Welcare is a modern, multi-specialty 127 bed medical facility in the central hub of Dubai, Ideally located just 5 minutes from Dubai International Airport, Business Bay and Sheikh Zayed Road.

The successful candidate for the role Optometrist will be responsible for examining patients, diagnosing eye and vision problems, testing patients' depth and color perception, and testing patients' ability to coordinate and focus their eyes.

Key Output:
- Examines the eyes of patients of all ages to detect signs of injury, disease, abnormality or vision defects
- Liaises with Ophthalmologists and other medical practitioners and sometimes shares the care of patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions
- Functions in a multicultural environment
- Contributes towards Quality Improvement and Infection Control Standards as per the policies of the hospital
- Cares for and educates patients about their conditions, as well as establishing trust and building rapport with patients and their families
- Guidelines of International Patient Safety Goals and evidence based practice are adhered to
- Participates in Continuous Professional Development
- High emphasis on customer/patient care

Requirements

Locally based candidates with 2-5 years experience as an Optometrist will be given preference, but we are happy to consider candidates from overseas, who have the desired experience and qualifications

- Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Optometry with a minimum of 3 years duration
- Minimum two (2) years post graduate experience
- Proof of valid registration as an Optometrist from home country and/or country of last employment where applicable
- Active DHA eligibility or license is a definite advantage
- Accreditation experience will be highly noted
- Fluent in English and knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
- Strong service culture orientation: At ease functioning in a multicultural environment
