Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Salary AED 22-25,000

Our client is a leading international law firm and urgently seeking a Paralegal to provide support as required by the departments in the Dubai office.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Providing support to the fee-earners throughout Dubai and across the Middle East in Litigation, Projects, Real Estate, Banking, Corporate and Employment.
- Providing support on the various stages of disclosure and document review exercises including collating, organising and reviewing documents for relevance and privilege, flagging important documents to fee-earners, identifying legal issues, co-ordinating witness and expert comments of the documents, providing detailed case information/knowledge, preparing disclosure lists.
- Researching points of law and other factual issues and preparing reports on the same.
- Collating and organising bundles of documents, witness statements and exhibits (both in hard copy and using Relativity).
- Providing support on various cross department deals and due diligence exercises.
- Reviewing and proof-reading legal documents.
- Maintaining audit trails in relation to document management.
- Maintaining client files and being the point of liaison (as required).

Requirements

- Qualified paralegal that has preferably completed the LPC.
- At least 2 years experience (not including work experience positions and internships) as a paralegal.
- Law graduate with a first or upper second class degree or equivalent.
- Proven paralegal experience supporting a similar legal team/department.
- Experience using litigation review databases (preferred).
- Experience using legal research databases (preferred).
- Preferably experience in Corp/Commercial.
- FM experience or Employment law experience an advantage.

Technical/Work-based Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Previous legal database experience.
- Previous document review platform experience.

General Skills/Attributes:
- Highly organised and methodical approach to the role as well as confidence with IT systems.
- Attention to detail and the confidence to work independently as well as in a team.
- Highly motivated and commercially astute.
- Flexibility and the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Self-motivated, hardworking, reliable and works well under pressure.
- Able to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team.

Other requirements:
- Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required.
