Employment: Full Time

Currently working on Behalf of a Top Tier Global Law firm, who are currently looking to recruit a Paralegal to provide administrative support to management in the handling of subrogated insurance claims. The role will involve a variety of paralegal, business development and administrative work.

Key responsibilities
- Acting as a key administrative coordinator for the group's ongoing work, which will include monitoring key client agreements, overseeing new subrogation matters and new client referrals coordinating and liaising with business development on specific initiatives, and providing general administrative assistance to the team.
- Managing and maintaining a portfolio of subrogation insurance claims across a number of different classes of insurance (property, fire, engineering, oil and gas, marine, construction and engineering).
- Developing and maintaining guidelines on local procedures and practices and disseminating this information to management.
- Providing assistance with business development initiatives, regular mailing topics and internal/external seminars, organising logistics, liaising with BDM regarding venue, invites and following up.
- Keeping up to date of relevant local laws, procedures and government departments.
- Building relationships and liaising with key stakeholders, namely insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, policy holders as required in order to build a case for subrogation.
- Assisting in the preparation of legal documents and working with lawyers and Local Advocates in the pursuit of a successful subrogated recovery.
- Negotiating settlements in respect of subrogated claims.
- Assisting with coordination activities including: arranging for and distributing translations as needed; assisting with key client account monitoring; providing assistance where required for the global corporate insurance group; participating in and coordinating team meetings; actively managing business plans, activity calendars and business development initiatives; reviewing closed insurance claim files for the purpose of identifying claims that have subrogation potential

Requirements

The successful candidate must demonstrate fluency in both English and Arabic language, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels; Be educated up to a degree level or equivalent with law degree desirable; Have a high level understanding of the legal systems and processes that apply in the MENA region.

Have an understanding of the principles of insurance and in particular, subrogation; Have good negotiation and influencing skills; May have had experience working for a major loss adjusting firm or insurance company; Excellent attention to detail; Computer literate with excellent work processing skills e.g. Word and Excel.

Prior experience within insurance market is desirable but not essential.
