Synopsis

The Fleet Planning Engineer at Etihad Airways is an integral part of the dynamic planning team, contributing to the seamless operation and maintenance planning of the airline's fleet. Reporting to the Manager Planning, the role will involve strategic planning, coordination, and optimization of maintenance activities to ensure the airworthiness and reliability of the fleet.

Accountabilities

- Take charge of meticulous planning and execution of all maintenance activities, ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of the fleet. This includes coordinating A-Check and Line Planning activities, with a focus on excluding tasks covered by the Aircraft Maintenance Program and Mod campaigns falling outside the purview of Etihad Airways P145 Maintenance Provider. Examples include 24-Month checks, LDG Changes, weighing checks, and similar activities.
- Collaborate with the CAMO Planning team to develop accurate maintenance planning for the fleet, including A-Check and Line Planning activities, and one-day maintenance forecasts.
- Efficiently schedule and plan maintenance activities to ensure minimal impact on operational schedules. This involves strategic coordination with various teams to balance demand and capacity effectively.
- Regularly monitor and assess the accuracy of maintenance forecasts, making adjustments as necessary to align with the operational needs of the airline.
- Maintains oversight of the daily operation, ensures KPIs are met and data for their measurement are collected as required.
- Work closely with the CAMO Planning team to synchronize maintenance plans with real-time operational adjustments, minimizing disruptions and optimizing overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Slot Planning team to contribute to the planning of maintenance activities within different time windows, including 2 years, 6 weeks, and 2 weeks.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination among planning teams, including CAMO Planning, Fleet Planning, and Strategic Slot Planning, optimizing both short-term and long-term planning.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Planning department, promoting efficiency and effectiveness in maintenance planning.
- Ensure strict adherence to documented procedures, processes, and aviation regulations, contributing to the airline's commitment to safety and compliance.

Requirements

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant job-related experience in aviation maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with maintenance forecasting tools and software.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, especially in maintenance planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
