Employment: Full Time

The postdoctoral scientist should have expertise in ticks and testing for the presence of tick-borne microbes/tick-borne diseases. The tasks of the postdoctoral scientist are tick collection in the field from camels and wildlife, installation of traps for wildlife, tick identification (morphological and molecular), DNA/RNA extractions, conducting PCRs, data collection/data management (tick and microbes prevalence data, sanger sequencing data, and NGS data), data analysis (phylogenetic and statistical) and manuscript writing.

The postdoctoral scientist will be involved under mentorship of the PI in communicating with different institutes and top scientists on the One Health approach in the MENA region and beyond regarding cooperation and collaboration and will coordinate/participate in intra/interdepartmental and college activities at UAEU. Candidate must have ability to work independently, analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate measures to resolve problems while following college policies and procedures

Requirements

Minimum Qualification
Successful candidates should have a PhD degree with research work and experience in ticks and tick-borne diseases with a good track record of publications in the field and excellent English comprehension and writing skills

Preferred Qualification
PhD and fluent in English
