Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Assist with developing the designs & standards of the control room, using industry standards where possible, to support and drive correct operation.
- Effectively manage and communicate functional change requests between the Alpha and Beta Site rollout (Year 1) and Business As Usual (BAU) thereafter.
- Work with key stakeholders to actively improve on/off site KPI and operational dashboards/reports.
- Coordinate with Controls Engineering, ATS and the site teams to effectively identify and resolve improvement opportunities with the SPM solution
- Lead and support the Control Room (CR) Supervisors with the effective operation of the Site Performance Management (SPM) solution.
- Support the development of workflows within the control room to optimise total site performance through the use of Standard Site Operations (SSO).
- Assist the Site Management team in developing a proactive culture by using the condition monitoring functionality to optimise preventative maintenance scheduling
- Support future data capture developments; new sensor/meter requirements and manual data capture opportunities to further enhance the control monitoring and control capabilities
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to plant operating protocols and to company asset management protocols.
- Continuously seek to improve the Best Operating Practices (BOP) and Standard Work Instructions (SWI) required to efficiently manage the control rooms.
- Coordinate with the Group Training team to develop, deliver and improve the CR Supervisors/Operators training
- Advise senior management with regard to operational challenges, unusual risks and/or threats to site/asset performance
- Coordinate with Central/Regional Performance Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve areas of underperformance

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years experience in a Power Plant environment
- Minimum 3 years experience in Plant Performance role using data to optimise site performance
- Experience with operating SCADA applications, PLC and HMI controls & LAN systems required
- Experience with data capture and historians ideal
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook essential).
- Able to travel worldwide when required
- Ability to support & coach others about Site Performance Management
- Orange Belt desired (or equivalent Lean Six Sigma accreditation)
