The power systems analysis and design subteam based in our Abu Dhabi office provides consulting expertise in all aspects of power system network modelling covering subjects such as load flow, fault level, harmonics, motor starting, dynamics, protection coordination and electromagnetic transients. The Abu Dhabi team is a sub team of the global analysis business and all teams will co-operate and work together at all levels.

As the team leader for this element of the business you will also be responsible for local management of other team members. You will help to ensure their utilisation on projects and will provide assistance to projects as a senior engineer. The team leader will also play an important role in assisting with business development assembling bids and winning work. You will also ensure that projects are delivered profitably and in line with company standards.

You will provide additional management information to regional and central management internationally. Other ad hoc tasks will involve development of staff and involvement in recruitment as and when required. You will also be expected to carry out fee earning work.

As part of this role, the successful candidate will undertake assignments covering the analysis of existing and proposed networks applied to a variety of renewable, offshore, industrial and utility projects for clients based in the UK and overseas. Power system analysis studies play a key role - as part of new systems design, or upgrades.

Our services in power systems design and network modelling include - Concept design and options engineering for power systems, System modelling and performance assessment for design confirmation, and Control and protection options to improve system performance and reliability.

Requirements

Power system analysis engineers will need to be qualified to M.Eng. degree level(or equivalent) in:
- Electrical / electronic engineering, power systems engineering or a relevant electrical discipline.
- You will be chartered.
- You will have experience carrying out power system studies, managing power system studies projects, and liaising with clients.
- You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality, clear and precise power system studies reports.
- Experience in one or more of the following software packages is required -: PSS/e, IPSA, EDSA, ETAP, PSCAD-EMTDC, PTW, DigSILENT.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and training graduate engineers is desirable.
- Candidates should be prepared to undertake short visits within the UK and overseas to meet with clients and contractors as required.
